Together We Make A Difference

What is YVC?

The Youth volunteer Corps is a way for young people to help others.  You learn about your community and yourself by participating in exciting, challenging, and worthwhile service projects.

Youth Volunteer Projects

If you want something interesting, rewarding, and fun then the Youth Volunteer Corps projects are for you.  You could tutor, wash police cars, paint murals, help serve meals at local soup kitchens, help operate summer camps, or plan activities for the elderly and disabled.

When Do I Volunteer?

YVC runs year-round.  You can work on one and two day projects held during the school year or volunteer for a project lasting one to four weeks during the summer.  during the summer you'll be part of a six to nine member team led by a team leader.  During the school year, you'll work on group projects after school, on weekends, and during school breaks.  We can assist you in making car pool plans for transportation to and from projects.

What's in it for me?

One thing you won't get in the Youth Volunteer Corps is a lot of money.  But you will explore career possibilities and make new friends.  And you'll get experience that will look great on your resume, college entrance forms, and job applications.  Most importantly, you'll have the satisfaction of helping others in your community.
